Answers to Your Common Honey Questions

Straight answers from three generations of beekeepers.

Frequently Asked

Is your honey raw and unfiltered? +

Yes. We never heat or micro-filter our honey. Every jar keeps its natural pollen, enzymes, and the true character of where the bees foraged.

Why does my honey crystallize? +

Crystallization is natural — it's actually a sign of raw, pure honey. To return it to liquid, place the jar in warm (not boiling) water for 10–15 minutes. Raw Tupleo and Sage honey tend to not crystalize at all.

Is it safe for kids? +

Honey is safe for everyone over 12 months old. Do NOT feed raw honey to infants under 1 year — per FDA and pediatrician guidelines.

Where does your honey come from? +

Our own apiaries in Omega, Georgia, plus a network of trusted American beekeepers we know by name. Our family has been working since 1960, so we know the best beekeepers.

How should I store honey? +

At room temperature, away from direct sunlight, with the lid tightly sealed. Raw honey never spoils if stored correctly.

Does a metal spoon destroy honey? +

No. Metal does not destroy the properties of honey. We traditionally use a wooden drizzler, but there is no harm in using metal (stainless steel, or silver)

Do you ship honey internationally? +

Currently, we ship within the continental USA, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico. If you are a soldier we can ship to bases abroad via USPS.
