TEA STEEPING INSTRUCTIONS
Black Loose Leaf Tea
Optimum water temperature: Just Below Boiling
Steep Time: 1-3 Minutes

- 1 Teaspoon Tea
- Flavored Black Teas can be steeped up to two times
- High quality varietals may be steeped multiple times
Chai Loose Leaf Tea
Optimum water temperature: Chai Teas must be simmered in order to release their full flavors
Simmer Time: 3-8 minutes
- 1 Teaspoon Tea per 6-8 Ounces Water
- After simmering, Chai Tea is strained. Add 4-6 ounces milk (dairy or non dairy)
- Add sweetener of choice (honey); 1-3 teaspoons per cup

- Most Green Teas can be steeped up to two-three times
- Certain high quality varietals may be steeped multiple times
Herbal Loose Leaf Tea
Optimum water temperature: Just Below Boiling
Steep Time: 3-10 Minutes
- 1 Tablespoon Tea per 12 ounces water
- Most Green Teas can be steeped several times
- Medicinal Herbal Teas need to steep 10-30 minutes
Herbal Decoction Tea (Medicinal barks, seeds, fruits, etc.)
Optimum water temperature: Just Below Boiling
Simmer Time: 10-30 Minutes
- 1 Tablespoon Tea
- Most Green Teas can be steeped 2-3 times
Oolong Loose Leaf Tea
Optimum water temperature: Just Below Boiling
Steep Time: 1-3 Minutes
- 1 Teaspoon Tea (2 for larger leaf varieties)
- Most Oolong Teas can be steeped up to two times
- High quality varietals may be steeped multiple times
Puehr Loose Leaf Tea
Optimum water temperature: Just Below Boiling
Steep Time: 1-3 Minutes
- 1-2 Teaspoon Tea
- Some varieties can be steeped longer
- Most Puehr Teas may be steeped multiple times
Red Loose Leaf Tea (Rooibos, Honeybush)
Optimum water temperature: Just Below Boiling
Steep Time: 3-5 Minutes
- 2 Teaspoons Tea
- Most Red Teas can be steeped up to two times
White Loose Leaf Tea
Optimum water temperature: 175 Degrees
Steep Time: 1-3 Minutes
- 1 Teaspoon Tea (2 for larger leaf varieties)
- Most Green Teas can be steeped up to two-three times
- Certain high quality varietals may be steeped multiple times
